Home buying in North Carolina presents many challenges. To begin with, homes are scarce, many need updating, and there there is no shortage of buyers. Then there's the actual transaction; with ‘due diligence’ and home inspection costs, just finding the right home can be an expensive proposition. Finding one you like that fails a home inspection will cost you money and valuable time in looking for a more suitable home.
While I have been a licensed home inspector and have conducted literally hundreds of home inspections, (disclaimer coming….) I am not a licensed home inspector or building structural engineer in North Carolina. I do not conduct home inspections or structural inspections. What I can do, however, is provide 'advice' if you are looking at homes that may require home renovation or home remodeling. Whether you’ll be needing a bathroom remodel or a kitchen remodel, or maybe you find a home that could use an interior design makeover, I can give you a much better understanding of your options while you are viewing the home and before you decide to commit to an offer.
Being smart, planning ahead, and working side-by-side with an experienced partner will save you time, money, and plenty of frustration!!! Let the process begin before you invest in your new home.
NOTE: It is important, and I always recommend that all home buyers get a thorough home inspection by a licensed home inspector, and I will always refer you to licensed home inspectors, licensed contractors, or building engineers for specific areas that might impact the viability of the home renovation work you may be looking to perform.
